Is the community gated? Yes, we are a gated community. The gates are unmanned and each owner has a device on their vehicle for opening the gates. What are my property taxes? Property taxes are based on property valuations as determined by the county assessor. Tonto Verde’s properties range in price from $400,000 to $2 million and include single-family homes and townhouses so property taxes vary. The median property tax within Tonto Verde is $3,000. What is the total size of the community? There are 746 total properties within Tonto Verde. There are single family homes and townhomes. How many people live in Tonto Verde year round? It is estimated that more than one-third of Tonto Verde’s homeowners live in Tonto Verde full-time. The other two-thirds spend their winter months at Tonto Verde with most residing 5-6 months out of the year. Is there a monthly food & beverage minimum in the Clubhouse? No, there is no food and/or beverage minimum. Are there emergency services in the area? How far is it to the nearest hospital? Rio Verde Fire Department is located about a mile from the Tonto Verde entrance and has an on-site ambulance and paramedics. Last year, the department responded to 619 calls and the average response time was 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Tonto Verde is 25 miles from Honor Health Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, 20 miles from Honor Health Thompson Peak Medical center, and 24 miles from the Mayo Clinic. Are there churches in the area? Yes, the Community Church of the Verdes, which is a multi-denominational Christian Church, service is at 8:30 AM and is located within a mile of Tonto Verde . Catholic Mass is also held there at 10 AM. There are many other churches in the surrounding area including several in Fountain Hills. What is the closest grocery store / shopping? Fountain Hills is only a short 8-mile drive from Tonto Verde and it has all of your neighborhood stores including three grocery stores, two drug stores, Target, Ace Hardware and more. Where are the closest restaurants? In addition to what we have here in the Clubhouse, the Mesquite Bar & Grill and the Cimarron Dining Room, there are many restaurants within 20 minutes of Tonto Verde. Some resident favorites include: Oka Sushi, Arrivederci Cucina Italiana, Sapori D ‘Italia, and Pierto’s in Fountain Hills as well as Pinnacle Grill, Darcy’s Ristorante, Mastro’s, Preston’s, Jade Palace, Lamp Pizza, Nicks, and Raven Gastropub in North Scottsdale. Can you have your own golf cart at Tonto Verde? Yes, you may use your own personal golf cart on and off the course with no trail fee. I am a Tonto Verde resident, but not yet a Tonto Verde Golf Club Member. May I use the practice facilities? Residents are entitled to use the TVGC practice facilities prior to a golf round (i.e. range, chipping area and practice green) after first registering in the TVGC Golf Shop. Additionally, Non-Member Tonto Verde residents are allowed access to the North driving range, chipping and putting green after 3pm during the months of October - May. In the summer months of June - September they are allowed unlimited access to the aforementioned facilities. Stop in the Golf Shop today to pick up your bag tag which will identify you to the TVGC Staff as a resident of Tonto Verde. I am a Tonto Verde resident, but not yet a Tonto Verde Golf Club Member. May I play the courses? Yes, but Tonto Verde residents who are not TVGC Members have restricted TVGC golf privileges. During our peak season (October - May), TV residents are allowed to play 6 rounds. During the off season (June - September), there are no restrictions on rounds of golf. Golf rates are dynamic depending on the season and availability. Those who are not Golf Members may book tee times up to 3 days in advance. What kind of products would I find in the Golf Shop? The Tonto Verde Golf Shop carries a wide variety of golf, athleisure wear and non-golf items including, candles, home décor, glassware, and more. All Tonto Verde residents regardless of membership receive the member discount in the Golf Shop. Can I use my member number to charge items in the Golf Shop? Non-Member TV residents may set up a billing account with Tonto Verde Golf Club by filling out a short form and providing TVGC with a voided check. This process does require you to register for auto pay. Your charging number will be the same number you use for the HOA. May I walk on the Tonto Verde Golf Club cart paths? No. Walking on the TVGC cart paths at any time of day is considered trespassing. The Tonto Verde Community provides a Walkers and Waggers one mile path for personal exercise or walking your fury friend. A trail map is contained in your welcome binder.
